Working closely with the consultant microbiologists and infection control team they will help to develop a culture that reduces hospital acquired infection (HAIs), supporting prudent use of antimicrobials, investigating incidents, aiding implementation of any new antimicrobial initiatives and leading on writing and review of antimicrobial policies via Microguide. They will provide a clinical service to our specialist medical wards including liver, transplant, critical care, oncology, cardiac and gastro wards and support the training of junior pharmacists in these areas.
