Dr Thomas Frist founded HCA (Hospital Corporation of America) in 1968, with a vision of creating a healthcare company with the scope, resources and expertise to provide the highest possible standard of care. Now, with nearly 300 hospitals across the US and UK, 87,000 nurses and 37,000 doctors, HCA is one of the world’s leading providers of private healthcare services.
HCA UK opened its doors in 1995. Since then, we have built a world-class network of over 30 facilities in London, Manchester and very soon Birmingham, each with the latest and best diagnostic and treatment equipment and facilities.

Plus, our latest NHS joint venture – The Harborne Hospital, a brand new, £100 million, state-of-the-art hospital on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus, it’s the product of a partnership with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The Harborne Hospital provides a comprehensive range of services, including complex care.
