We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist to join a specialist Cancer Services Team based in Swansea, with the flexibility of remote working across the UK. This ongoing locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £33-£36, depending on experience, with 1.4 WTE available, making it suitable for both full-time and part-time applicants.

What you will do:

• Deliver specialist clinical pharmacy services to patients receiving cancer treatment, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based medication management.
• Perform clinical verification of SCAT prescriptions, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with national and local protocols.
• Utilise Chemocare to support chemotherapy prescribing, verification, and treatment management.
• Apply your BOPA accreditation and oncology expertise to support high-quality pharmaceutical care across Cancer Services.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, specialist nurses, pharmacy colleagues, and the wider multidisciplinary team to optimise patient treatment plans.
• Provide specialist medicines advice relating to systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT) and supportive treatments.
• Identify, resolve, and prevent medication-related issues, promoting patient safety and best clinical practice.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards and organisational policies.
• Participate in service development, clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development to maintain the highest standards of care.
• Keep up to date with developments in oncology pharmacy practice, national guidance, and emerging cancer therapies.

Requirements:

• Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Significant post-registration experience as a Clinical Pharmacist within Cancer Services or Oncology Pharmacy.
• Proven experience using Chemocare.
• Current BOPA Passport accreditation.
• Experience in the clinical verification of SCAT prescriptions.
• Excellent clinical knowledge of systemic anti-cancer therapies, communication skills, and multidisciplinary working.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent standards of patient care within a remote working environment.
