“I’d never heard of chemotherapy in the community before, but I had always loved doing community work when I was on student placements. When I saw this job advertised, I just knew it was right for me. The idea of being able to join community and chemotherapy together in one role was really exciting.”

Why you should choose a career with Sciensus

You will build lasting personal relationships with patients, stakeholders and patient support networks to aide and support their treatment and recovery.

“I can’t say enough good things about the team,” said Catherine. “Mostly I see one of the same three to four nurses and they are all fantastic. They make you feel comfortable and relaxed but respect your space and how you feel.”

Our nursing roles offer a wonderful opportunity for nurses to reconnect with why it is they became a nurse: to make a real difference to people’s everyday life.

Our roles are community based, meaning you will not be confined to one location, office or ward. Some of our roles are regional meaning your patient community is wide.

“They can have their home comforts around them, and their family can be there too if they like. Some of the treatments might take up to seven hours, so their relatives can bring them lunch and they can watch their favourite TV programmes – it makes the time go a lot quicker.”

They are so knowledgeable and full of advice and happy to chat about everything from medical questions to where I’m going to go on my first post-treatment cruise”
