We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) to join the distinguished surgical team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust on a full-time, urgent 3-month contract. If you are a skilled SCP, particularly adept in endoscopic conduit harvesting and advanced surgical assistance, this is a chance you do not want to miss. What you will do:
- Provide comprehensive support in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of patient care.
- Serve as first or second assistant during complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
- Perform conduit harvesting, including Endoscopic Vein Harvesting and Endoscopic Radial Artery Harvesting.
- Participate actively in service development, audits, and the education and training of junior team members.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, providing leadership and ensuring the highest standards of care.
Key Requirements:
- Qualification as a Surgical Care Practitioner.
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Essential expertise in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) and Endoscopic Radial Artery Harvesting.
- Desirable skills in ultrasound and conduit scanning.
- Ability to work independently through complex cardiothoracic procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication skills, and an ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
