What you will do:

  • Deliver a ward and community-based medicines management service, involving medicines reconciliation, drug history taking, and the assessment of patients’ own medicines.
  • Support the accurate dispensing, labelling, and supply of medicines in line with Trust procedures and legal requirements.
  • Assist pharmacists and multi-disciplinary team colleagues in optimising medicines use, ensuring continuity of care across different pathways.
  • Carry out controlled drug checks, audits, and stock management, ensuring compliance with the Medicines Act and Trust policies.
  • Act as an Accredited Checking Technician, if qualified, and supervise pharmacy support staff within dispensary services.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or an equivalent BTEC qualification, Accredited Pharmacy Technician status, and evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Registration & Compliance: Must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), have an understanding of NHS medicines governance, and knowledge of Controlled Drugs regulations.
