OH Medical is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading Occupational Health provider for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join their established team in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Occupational Health Advisor looking to join a supportive, professional service where you'll manage a varied clinical caseload while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid working pattern.

Working with a well-known manufacturing client, you'll play a key role in supporting employee health, wellbeing and fitness for work, delivering high-quality Occupational Health services within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.



The Role

As an Occupational Health Advisor, you'll provide a full Occupational Health service, delivering evidence-based clinical advice to both employees and managers. Your role will combine case management with health surveillance, fitness assessments and workplace health advice, helping organisations promote safe and healthy working environments.

This hybrid position offers the balance of three days onsite in Derby and two days working from home, with working hours between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based case management consultations.
  • Assess fitness for work and provide clear, professional Occupational Health reports.
  • Conduct health surveillance in line with current legislation and best practice.
  • Undertake fitness-for-work medicals and role-specific medical assessments.
  • Carry out Drug & Alcohol testing where required.
  • Complete and interpret:
    • Spirometry
    • Audiometry
    • General medicals
    • Fitness for role assessments
  • Provide expert Occupational Health advice to managers and employees.
  • Escalate complex clinical cases appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with NMC standards and professional guidelines.


What We're Looking For in an OHA

To be successful in this Occupational Health Advisor role you'll have:
  • NMC Nurse Registration (Part 1 Essential Part 3 Highly Desirable)
  • Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health (Degree or Diploma)
  • Experience delivering Occupational Health case management
  • Experience undertaking health surveillance and fitness-for-work assessments
  • Competency in Spirometry and Audiometry
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • A good understanding of data protection, confidentiality and Occupational Health legislation
  • Confident IT skills and experience using Occupational Health management systems
