What you will do:
- Deliver specialist physiotherapy assessments and interventions for adults with learning disabilities and complex physical health needs.
- Manage a caseload involving neurological, orthopaedic, learning disability, and mental health presentations.
- Provide specialist assessment and management of 24-hour postural care needs.
- Assess and prescribe equipment, specialist seating, wheelchairs, and postural management systems.
- Work closely with service users, carers, schools, health and social care professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Deliver person-centred rehabilitation programmes to maximise independence and wellbeing.
- Support and supervise junior staff and students.
Requirements:
- BSc/Diploma in Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registration
- CSP Membership
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience at Band 5 level or equivalent
- Experience of multidisciplinary and multi-agency working
- Knowledge of the complex physical health needs of people with learning disabilities
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation skills
- Ability to manage an independent caseload and prioritise workload effectively
- IT proficiency and strong communication skills
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience working with people with learning disabilities
- Experience of postural management
- Experience in community services, wheelchair services, or falls services
- Aquatic Therapy experience
- Relevant postgraduate training
Car Driver Required?:
Yes – Own transport and a clean driving licence are essential requirements.
