Senior Medical Secretary - London Breast Institute
Women's Health Clinic, 27 Harley St, London W1G 9QP
Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shift times: Monday - Friday between 0900-1800 (some flexibility is required to cover clinics)
12-month Fixed Term Contract
Hybrid working available post probation / 2 days working from home per week (first 3 months on-site 5 days per week)
We're looking for a Senior Medical Secretary - to join the team at The London Breast Institute to support two Breast Surgeons. Working closely with the Practice Manager, this opportunity would suit an experienced individual who is confident providing high-level secretarial support within a specialist service and enjoys working with a high degree of autonomy.
In this senior role, you'll take a lead in supporting the day-to-day running of the service. Working fully on site, you'll manage clinic preparation, patient correspondence and complex enquiries, helping ensure patients receive timely, clear and professional communication throughout their care. Reporting into the Practice Manager, you'll be a trusted point of contact within the service and play an important role in maintaining smooth and well-organised clinics.

What you'll do:
- Provide senior-level secretarial support to two Breast Surgeons.
- Lead on clinic preparation, patient letters and accurate clinical documentation
- Manage patient enquiries and complaints with professionalism, discretion and care
- Coordinate diaries, appointments and correspondence to support efficient clinic flow
- Work closely with the Practice Manager to support daily operational priorities
- Must have been in a Medical Secretary position previously.
- Previous experience within breast surgery or a related specialty is highly desirable. We also welcome applications from candidates with experience in oncology, surgical services, or diagnostic pathways, or those with a strong interest in developing their career within breast care.
- Strong attention to detail, accurate typing and letter proof reading skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills.
