Resident Doctor - Adult Critical Care / ITU Level 3 Unit
  • Location: London, The Princess Grace Hospital, 42-52 Nottingham Pl, London W1U 5NY
  • Contract : Permanent, Part-Time 1 x 24 hours per week.

We are seeking a senior-grade doctor with a background in Critical Care Medicine to work on the Adult ITU at The Princess Grace Hospital. You will work alongside leading consultants and a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, delivering care to adults with complex needs, including post-operative spinal surgery and both short- and long-stay critical care patients.

This is a 24-hour-per-week contracted role, with clinical activity delivered flexibly across shifts as required, and includes a structured rotation with our sister site, The Harley Street Clinic, providing exposure to high-acuity cardiothoracic critical care.

While we are a Consultant Led Service, we believe in empowering our Resident Doctors, so your role could expand as much as you wish. You'll have the chance to be involved in audits, projects and quality improvement initiatives; alongside the opportunity to join a variety of internal networks. This could be to help steer the services you deliver, QI projects, clinical governance or MDT meetings. Giving you an opportunity to network with your peers, share best practice and expand your knowledge in an unrivalled setting. Monthly teaching sessions held by Consultants and RDs, with various learning opportunities. You can participate in providing teaching if that is your passion.

What you will do:
  • Working in a team of specialists to provide day-to-day inpatient medical management, including clerking admissions, daily ward rounds, and routine clinical reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with internationally recognised consultants, specialist therapists, and nurses in all aspects of medical care for adult patients on the Critical Care Ward.
  • Completing a range of medical procedures, including complex airways as directed, central access and haemodynamic monitoring.
  • Leading crash teams if appropriate/ required.
  • Review deteriorating patients on the ward and manage appropriately.
What You'll Bring
  • GMC registration and licence to practise in the UK
  • Completion of Foundation training and at 3 years Core Anaesthetics/ ACCS training
  • Minimum 3-4 years specialist experience in Critical Care Wards
  • A passion for teamwork and delivering exceptional patient care
  • Current ALS
  • Able to manage complex airways
  • Ideally have completed at least intermediate level Cardiac Anaesthesia module in Core Anaesthetic training.
