Located in Manchester, The Christie Private Care is based within The Christie NHS Foundation Trust; the largest single site cancer centre in Europe operating as a Joint Venture partnership . The Christie Private Care provides advanced cancer care and houses the world's largest early clinical trials unit. Our specialist team treat private patients using a full range of diagnostic, inpatient, surgical, day care and outpatient treatment all on one site
As a Patient Access Officer, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a warm and professional welcome at reception. Your role will involve delivering a high standard of customer care while managing a busy front desk, handling patient check-ins, and assisting with enquiries. In addition, you will provide a comprehensive range of administrative services to support consultants and third parties, ensuring the smooth coordination of the patient journey. This is a front-facing role that requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a high volume of activity while maintaining a 5-star, world-class service.

What you'll do:
- Welcoming patients and visitors at reception, greeting them with a friendly and professional demeanour, ensuring they feel supported and valued from the moment they arrive.
- Engage with patients, addressing queries, providing clear communication, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
- Manage patient waiting areas to ensure the Patient Access Service runs smoothly.
- Coordinate and facilitate all patient bookings where applicable.
- Respond promptly to any patient or third-party requests, demonstrating empathy and understanding in every interaction.
- Maintain accurate and up to date information on the hospital database during the patient journey.
- Formally pre-register or register all patients onto HCA databases.
- Ensure all relevant Patient documents are signed and scanned to the patient accounts.
- Previous Administrative experience in a client/customer-facing role (preferable Hospital based)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive attitude and the ability to empathise with patients and visitors.
- Excellent customer care skills, ensuring each patient's journey is seamless and compassionate.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
