<h3>What You Will Do</h3>

Collect used instruments from wards and clinics.
</li>

<li>
Disassemble and prepare instruments for cleaning.
</li>

<li>
Operate washer disinfectors to decontaminate instruments.
</li>

<li>
Inspect, reassemble, test, and package instruments ready for sterilisation.
</li>

<li>
Sterilise instruments and trays using steam autoclaves.
</li>

<li>
Record decontamination processes using computer systems and scanners.
</li>

<li>
Test machinery and report faults promptly.
</li>

<li>
Distribute sterile instruments and trays to hospital departments.
</li>

<li>
Maintain stock levels and update records accurately.
</li>

<li>
Train in Endoscopy, supporting staff and processing flexible endoscopes.
</li>
</ul>

<h3>Requirements</h3>

<ul>
<li>
HCPC registration.
</li>

<li>
Minimum of 2 years' experience within a Sterile Services environment.
</li>

<li>
Driving licence preferred to support travel between sites.
</li>
</ul>

This role will support our Sterile Services Department at our Elland Hospital on a flexible working basis, which in turn will suit a candidate looking for the work/life balance. Duties and responsibilities; To provide the multidisciplinary perioperative team with an exemplary sterile supplies service within the operating theatre suite by assisting in the reprocessing and distribution of medical and surgical reusable devices for use in patient care. This role involves manual handling, exposure to blood and bodily fluids, and working with chemicals and machinery. There is no involvement with patients. This is a physical role involving some heavy lifting of equipment. Endoscopy Decontamination Technician | SST | Theatres | 37.5 hrs per week | Permanent | Slough Spire Thames Valley Hospital are looking for an SSD Assistant to join our fantastic Theatre team on a full time basis. You will work a mix of shifts between the hours of 7.30am - 8.00pm on a rota, 5 out of 6 days each week. Duties and responsibilities: To assist the Endoscopy team to provide exemplary care in the Endoscopy Department by cleaning and decontamination of endoscopes and its traceability.
