We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team in Redhill. This ongoing full-time locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £32.36, depending on experience, with opportunities to work across Neuro, Surgical, Front Door, and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) services. What you will do:

  • Deliver specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions for patients across Neuro, Surgical, Front Door, and Intensive Care services.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review evidence-based, patient-centred treatment plans to maximise independence and functional outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, nurses, doctors, and discharge coordinators, to ensure coordinated care and effective discharge planning.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior occupational therapists, assistants, and students.
  • Assess complex physical, cognitive, perceptual, and functional needs, adapting interventions to meet individual patient goals.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes and modify rehabilitation programmes based on patient progress and clinical judgement.
  • Educate patients, families, and carers on rehabilitation strategies, equipment use, and discharge planning to support continued recovery.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive patient documentation in accordance with HCPC standards and organisational policies.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice within the occupational therapy department.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Significant post-registration experience within acute hospital settings.
  • Previous experience working across one or more of the following specialisms: Neurology, Surgery, Front Door Assessment, or Intensive Care (ICU).
  • Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary working skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a complex caseload and supervise junior colleagues effectively.
