What you will do:

  • Perform a wide array of MRI examinations, maintaining a high diagnostic standard and adapting techniques to meet specific clinical requirements.
  • Evaluate and justify MRI referrals following IR(ME)R regulations, Trust policies, and national radiology guidelines.
  • Conduct comprehensive MRI safety screenings for all patients, identifying contraindications and managing associated risks.
  • Administer intravenous contrast agents, if you are appropriately trained and authorised, ensuring consistent monitoring of patients during examinations.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Postgraduate training or substantial expertise in MRI practice.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development (CPD).
  • IV Cannulation certification is desirable.

Registration & Compliance:

  • HCPC Registered Radiographer.
  • Solid understanding of IR(ME)R 2017 regulations.
  • Knowledge of MHRA MRI Safety Guidelines.
  • Familiarity with NHS Clinical Governance frameworks, Health and Safety legislation, Equality Act 2010, and Information Governance requirements.
