JOB-20240830-3118bf5c

Join us as a Band 6 Radiographer with a specialism in CT in Shetland, UK, for a 1-month locum opportunity earning £37.64 per hour. This full-time role includes on-call duties for night and weekend working. As an experienced practitioner, you will rotate between general, mobile, theatres, and especially CT, providing a high-quality, efficient, patient-focused imaging service to NHS Shetland. You will manage, organise, and supervise CT work lists within a specialist team, ensuring the delivery of outstanding care.

Perks and benefits:
- Enjoy return travel from within the UK, booked by the agency and fully covered by the board, so your adventure to Shetland starts stress-free.
- Relax in single board accommodation provided for you, allowing you to settle in quickly and focus on your important work.
- Take advantage of the unique opportunity to work in a remote and rural environment, broadening your professional horizon and enriching your skill set.
- Find a work-life balance that's hard to beat, enabling you to explore the stunning landscapes of Shetland on your days off.
- Benefit from working with a supportive team, eager to share knowledge and experience to enhance your professional growth.

What you will do:
- Undertake intravenous administration of contrast agents without supervision, showcasing your expertise.
- Provide professional and clinical support, training radiographers rotating through CT to ensure high standards.
- Report to the Head of Service on the efficiency and effectiveness of the CT service, contributing to departmental improvements.
- Lead the development of CT imaging throughout the department, ensuring best clinical practice in a remote and rural general hospital.
- Perform all radiographic duties, including general radiography and on-call service, with a flexible approach tailored to current clinical skills.
- Demonstrate extremely high film analysis skills and a thorough knowledge of pathology and anatomy to facilitate autonomous referrals, due to the absence of an on-site radiologist.
- Assess, justify, and manage your own specialist workload, maintaining associated records in accordance with IR (ME) R 2017.
- Supervise and train recently qualified radiographers, assistant practitioners, undergraduate radiographers, as well as other AHPs, nurses, and dental nurses.

Shetland offers a truly unique and enriching experience. With breathtaking natural beauty, a vibrant community, and endless opportunities to explore the great outdoors, working and living in Shetland is a rewarding adventure unlike any other.
