What you will do:
- Undertake psychological assessments for children and young people presenting with learning, emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs.
- Formulate evidence-based recommendations and interventions to support positive educational and wellbeing outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with schools, families, local authority teams, and partner agencies to develop effective support strategies.
- Provide consultation and specialist advice regarding Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), contributing to Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments where appropriate.
- Deliver training, workshops, and consultation sessions for school staff, parents, and other professionals to promote best practice.
- Support schools in developing inclusive learning environments and implementing effective intervention strategies.
- Prepare high-quality psychological reports, assessments, and recommendations in accordance with professional standards and statutory requirements.
- Keep up to date with current research, legislation, and developments within Educational Psychology to inform practice.
Requirements:
- Doctorate or recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Educational Psychologist.
- Previous experience working as an Educational Psychologist within educational or local authority settings.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, child development, psychological assessment, and intervention models.
- Excellent communication, consultation, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
