We're looking for a Lead Theatre Practitioner - Robotics to join our theatre team at The Harborne Hospital. Here, advanced technology sits alongside expert clinical care, creating a modern environment where precision and safety are at the centre of everything we do. As part of HCA Healthcare UK, you'll be working in a purpose built hospital designed to support complex surgery, with robotics playing a key role in shaping how we deliver care now and into the future.

As a Lead Theatre Practitioner in Robotics, you'll take on a highly visible role within the theatre team, supporting the delivery of safe, effective perioperative care while leading the development of robotic practice. Working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, including our partners at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, you'll help ensure each surgical list runs smoothly and to the highest standard. Your day to day work will combine hands on clinical expertise with leadership, from optimising robotic systems and supporting complex procedures to building capability within the team and helping colleagues grow in confidence with advanced techniques.

At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.
What you'll do:
  • Coordinate robotic theatre activity and support the safe delivery of surgical lists
  • Act as the specialist for robotic systems, including set up, troubleshooting and optimisation
  • Support and mentor colleagues to build capability across the theatre team
  • Work with the Surgical Services Manager on workforce planning, training and service development
  • Maintain a safe and compliant environment, with a focus on equipment readiness and aseptic practice
What you'll bring:
  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration
  • Significant experience in robotic assisted surgery, such as da Vinci systems
  • Strong understanding of perioperative workflows within a robotic environment
  • Proven ability to support, guide and develop colleagues in a theatre setting
  • Commitment to delivering safe, high quality patient care
