About the role Play a crucial role in the functional and disability assessments process, a service that touches the lives of millions of people in the UK. You will work autonomously to assess the cases of people who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit or a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) as part of the DWPs Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). This will involve holding consultations and writing fair and accurate reports. You will only work to assess people for PIP or a WCA, not both. As part of your application process, we will advise you on which service you will work on and discuss what your training will involve. You do not need to have worked as a Functional Assessor previously. We can support you in your career change with our accredited training programme and dedicated support structure. Key responsibilities<ul><li>Holding telephone, video or in-person consultations with people who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit or a Work Capability Assessment (WCA).</li><li> Assessing a variety of complex conditions and impairments.</li><li> Using your strong verbal communication skills and write high quality, fair and accurate assessment reports using a special IT system.</li><li> Working with your line manager to advance your own professional development and career as a Functional Assessor.</li></ul>Essential experience and qualifications<ul><li>Minimum of 12 months post-registration experience working as an Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Paramedic, Physiotherapist, Pharmacist or Occupational Therapist.</li><li> You must hold full registration with one of the following professional bodies:<ul><li> Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)</li><li> Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)</li><li>General Pharmaceutical Council (GPC)</li></ul></li></ul> Our goal is for Advo Health to be a workplace that creates a sense of belonging for everyone.
