We are committed to developing our people and are happy to consider candidates with little or no previous theatre experience. If you have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine passion for supporting patients, we can provide the training and support you need to succeed in this rewarding role.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a professional, supportive team and build a long-term career within one of the UK's leading independent healthcare providers.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a key member of the theatre team, you will support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include

Supporting Nurses and Consultants during surgical procedures.
  • Assisting Scrub Nurses within operating theatres.
  • Supporting patients within the anaesthetic room.
  • Safely transporting patients to and from theatre and wards.
  • Opening sterile packs and preparing equipment for procedures.
  • Preparing, checking and handling surgical instruments.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control.
  • Contributing to a safe, efficient and high-quality theatre environment.
  • Providing reassurance and support to patients throughout their theatre experience.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for people who are:
  • Passionate about patient care and making a difference.
  • Keen to learn and develop new clinical skills.
  • Interested in building a career within healthcare.
  • Compassionate, caring and empathetic.
  • Excellent communicators who work well as part of a team.
  • Reliable, organised and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential
  • A genuine interest in healthcare and patient wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Desirable
  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant, Support Worker or within a healthcare environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, Care Certificate or equivalent.
  • Previous theatre experience (although full training will be provided).

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship for this role.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package, including:
  • 35 days' annual leave, including bank holidays
  • Employer and employee contributory pension with flexible retirement options
  • Spire for You Rewards Platform - discounts and cashback at over 1,000 retailers
  • Free Bupa wellness screening
  • Private medical insurance
  • Life assurance
  • Free onsite parking

Our people are our difference. Their commitment, warmth, and pursuit of excellence are what truly set Spire Healthcare apart. For us, it's about more than treating patients - it's about genuinely caring for people.
