Join the CYPMHS team at the Brighton and Hove Clinic as an Associate Specialist / Specialty Doctor on a 9-month fixed-term contract, contributing to the delivery of high-quality clinical care within the eating disorder service under the guidance of the responsible clinicians. In this role, you will provide clinical assessment, review, and evaluation to young people under the care and treatment of the hospital ensuring that all treatment plans are fully adhered to. Working 37.5 hours a week, you will take a specific focus on physical health, food and fluids and risk management across the ward working closely with the Consultant, ward manager, and wider MDT. You will be working alongside Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists at Brighton &amp; Hove Clinic, as well as the wider MDT of which they form an integral part. There is a regular multi-disciplinary team meeting daily and weekly so that care and treatment is adequately planned. The team has dedicated administrative support which is based within the hospital. There are great learning opportunities as you work with the full multidisciplinary team and can benefit from the active service user and staff forums at Brighton and Hove Clinic. CYPMHS Associate Specialist - Fixed Term

Join our dedicated team at St Neots as the Associate Specialist Doctor and play a key role in providing high-quality care to service users with complex mental health needs. Working under the direction and supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist, you will undertake psychiatric and external assessments for service users referred to the unit, ensuring the appropriate level of care is provided. You will collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive Care Programmes tailored to individual needs. Your responsibilities will include preparing discharge summaries, reports and documentation for CPA meetings, as well as First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings. You will arrange and review clinical tests and investigations, take responsibility for chasing results and act promptly on findings. Supporting physical health care is a vital part of the role, including sharing responsibility for bloods and ECGs with the site phlebotomist, and ensuring ward staff carry out physical observations in line with medical instructions. You will participate in learning activities, supervision and Clinical Governance initiatives, contributing to audits, research and teaching. Delivering staff training relevant to the service user group and supporting service development will also form part of your remit. To ensure continuity of care, you will work effectively with colleagues to maintain medical cover at all times, including participation in the on-call rota and providing prospective cover for other specialty doctors during leave periods. As an Associate Specialist Doctor, you will: <ul> <li> Undertake psychiatric and external assessments for clients referred to the unit to determine the appropriate level of care to be provided, under the direction and supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist, and work with the MDT to ensure delivery of the Care Programme. </li> <li> Prepare discharge summaries, reports and other associated documentation as necessary e.g. for CPA meetings, as directed and supervised by the Consultant Psychiatrist. </li> <li> Participate in learning activities and supervision. </li> <li> Participation in Clinical Governance activities, and account for contracted hours utilised in research, Continuing Professional Development and other non-clinical duties as necessary in a timely manner. </li> <li> Working effectively with colleagues to ensure that clients have access to appropriate medical cover at all time, which will require participation in an on-call rota for the site. </li> <li> The post holder will be expected to support the GP in delivering physical health care and emergency treatment to patients in complex care. </li> <li> Arrange appropriate clinical tests and investigations and take responsibility for chasing up results and acting on them in a timely manner. </li> <li> Ensure physical observations by ward staff are carried out in accordance with medical instructions. Associate Specialist

If you're an Associate Specialist looking for a new opportunity to join a friendly multidisciplinary team in an established secure service setting delivering high-quality clinical service to people with complex mental health conditions across the medium and low secure service. Working part time 18.75 hours a week alongside the unit's multidisciplinary team, including the Consultant, to ensure that service users receive a holistic and person-centric treatment programme based on the recovery model. As an Associate Specialist, you will ensure the high quality first-line medical care of our inpatients, liaise effectively with external professionals and carers, provide written and oral evidence for Hospital Managers' and Tribunal hearings, work towards safe discharges including preparing discharge summaries, reports and other necessary documentation and be a valued and effective member of the multidisciplinary team at Thornford Park Hospital This established service looks to continually innovate, improve and deliver excellent care for its service users, has an active programme of education and research and provides significant developmental opportunities for its staff. There are currently four other Associate Specialists working in the service. There is no formal on-call commitment attached to the role, but there are opportunities to join the on-call rota through a locum agency which provides on-call services for the hospital.
