What you'll do:<ul><li>You will provide medical cover to the outpatient chemotherapy day unit.</li><li>You will also be responsible for checking outpatient prescriptions and protocols and approving medication. You will establish great relationships with a large pool of outpatients, as well as work closely with world-renowned experts within the medical field. </li><li>Successful candidates will work within a team of oncology specialists to develop a personalised private patient treatment plan, tailored towards patient unique needs and diagnosis.</li><li>You will deliver an integrative approach to cancer care that supports patients physical, emotional and spiritual needs in the outpatients setting.</li><li>As the specialist doctor on shift you will be responsible for medically assess patients receiving chemotherapy treatment and manage any emergencies which may arise with the guidance of the consultant in charge.</li></ul>What you'll bring: <ul><li>Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practise in the UK</li><li>Completion of Foundation Training, plus a minimum of IM2-4 / Core Medical Training (CM2-4) or equivalent experience</li><li>Full MRCP qualification</li><li>Proven experience (minimum 4 years) managing oncology patients across haematology and solid tumour cases</li><li>A commitment to teamwork, compassionate care, and delivering a first-class patient experience</li><li>Motivation to develop within the role as our cancer services continue to expand.</li></ul>Why HCA UK? HCA Healthcare UK at University College Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Resident Doctor to join our Haematology &amp; Oncology service, with a particular focus on our JACIE-accredited Stem Cell Transplant Unit (SCTU). This role is ideal for post-MRCP clinicians looking to consolidate their acute medical expertise and gain high-quality experience in a world-class private healthcare setting before progressing into specialty training. About the Role. As a Resident Doctor with HCA UK, you will work independently within your competency, delivering high-quality medical care to a broad range of haematology and oncology inpatients with both acute and complex long-term conditions. Under the supervision of the Consultant in Charge or a leading UCLH Professor, you will:<ul><li>Provide day-to-day inpatient medical management, including clerking planned and unplanned admissions, undertaking daily ward rounds, and leading on routine clinical reviews.</li><li>Manage acutely unwell patients, respond to medical emergencies and contribute to end-of-life care as required.</li><li>Support continuity of care across both inpatient and outpatient pathways in partnership with our established multidisciplinary team.</li></ul>This role offers an exceptional breadth of exposure rarely available outside major teaching centres:<ul><li>Stem Cell Transplant expertise within a highly specialised JACIE-accredited SCTU, managing autologous and allogeneic transplant patients.</li><li>Hands-on experience with novel and advanced therapies including CAR-T, bispecific antibodies and tumour-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapies.</li><li>Regularly rostered time on our Haematology Day Unit, gaining exposure to chemotherapy delivery, supportive care and outpatient haematology management.</li><li>Direct, close working relationships with internationally recognised Haematology and Oncology Consultants and Professors.</li><li>A supportive clinical environment with dedicated HCA-employed Resident Doctors and clear clinical governance structures.</li></ul>About You:<ul><li>MRCP (UK) or equivalent, or currently working at ST3+ level.</li><li>Confident managing acutely unwell patients and complex medical presentations.</li><li>Interested in haematology, oncology, stem cell transplant or broader internal medicine specialties.</li><li>A strong communicator, committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care within a high-performing private healthcare environment.</li></ul>At HCA UK we care about what you care about.
