Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits

Leading an oncology ward isn't just about operational oversight. It's about creating an environment where colleagues thrive, innovation is embraced, and patients receive exceptional care during some of the most important moments of their lives.

At The Wellington Hospital, we're looking for an experienced Oncology Ward Manager to lead a highly skilled team within one of London's most established private hospitals. This is an opportunity to shape services, influence patient outcomes and develop a talented nursing workforce, while remaining connected to clinical practice and some of the most advanced cancer treatments available today.

Our Oncology Ward cares for a diverse and complex patient population across gastrointestinal, breast, and neuroendocrine cancer pathways. The ward delivers specialist treatments including Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT), PSMA therapy, Selective Internal Radiation Therapy (SIRT), immunotherapy, chemotherapy, IVIG, and other pioneering oncology therapies.

The service also provides Palliative Care and End of Life (EOL) care, ensuring patients and their families receive compassionate, holistic, and person-centred support throughout their treatment journey. Working alongside expert multidisciplinary teams, the ward is committed to continually advancing cancer care and improving patient outcomes.

As Ward Manager, you'll lead a 28-bedded unit supporting patients across gastrointestinal, breast and neuroendocrine pathways, working alongside expert multidisciplinary teams who are committed to continually advancing cancer care.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll have the autonomy to influence both the patient experience and the future direction of the ward.

You'll be responsible for leading and developing a team of 25 colleagues, driving clinical excellence, maintaining operational performance, managing budgets and resources, and fostering a culture where people feel supported, recognised and empowered to grow.

You'll also continue to maintain a clinical presence, spending one to two shifts per week in practice to remain connected to patient care and your team.

At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. • Manage workforce planning, rostering, budget performance and service delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, innovation and evidence-based practice
  • Act as a visible clinical leader, supporting patients, families and colleagues while collaborating with hospital-wide teams and stakeholders
