Description
Priory Stockton Hall is looking to recruit a ward clerk to join the team. This is a part time role of 19 hours.

Priory Stockton Hall is a long-serving medium secure hospital based in a quiet but well-connected village near the historic city of York. It serves the local Provider Collaborative and multiple National Collaboratives, depending on clinical need, and has had a long-running record of successful patient pathways.

What you'll be doing
You'll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn't involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
  • Prepare admission packs
  • Record patient admissions and discharges on the relevant IT systems
  • Arrange sick certificates for patients on admission and throughout their stay as required
  • Obtain patient records from other hospitals as required
  • Ensure that all communication is within the boundaries of patient confidentiality, and seek guidance when unsure
You can find additional information in the attached job description.

What you'll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

We are looking for someone with an excellent standard of written and spoken English and strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a customer-focused attitude, be highly organised, able to prioritise effectively, and show flexibility and adaptability in their work. A strong team ethic and the ability to maintain professional boundaries are essential. Previous experience in an administrative role-ideally within a similar setting, though not essential-is desirable, as is experience working with or liaising with other organisations.

What we will give you in return
We want you to succeed at Priory and thrive in your role. You will be well supported with regular career conversations. We also offer full training and numerous pathways into leadership and qualified clinical positions to help you shape your career with us.
