We're looking for a Senior Physicist to join our team at Private Care at Guy's, supporting external beam and brachytherapy services on our London Bridge Hospital campus.
Across our London sites, we provide scientific and technical support to a Radiotherapy service comprising four TrueBeam linacs, a Gamma Knife, LDR prostate brachytherapy, and Molecular Radiotherapy. There has been significant development and investment in the service, including a growing linac-based SABR service and the installation of an Elekta Unity MR-Linac.
The Senior Physicist will play a key role in delivering high-quality radiotherapy physics services, supporting clinical operations, quality assurance, and service development activities. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the commissioning and implementation of new techniques, collaborate with colleagues across our central London network, and gain broad experience across all aspects of a modern radiotherapy service.

Key duties
- Support the provision of medical physics services within radiotherapy
- Provide scientific support to clinical oncologists, radiographers, dosimetrists, and the wider medical physics team
- Contribute to the development and commissioning of new equipment and techniques
- Participate in research and development projects
- Assist in writing reports for new procedures, equipment, and techniques, including commissioning documentation and work instructions
- Participate in routine departmental activities including QA and duty cover
- Support compliance with radiation protection legislation and departmental procedures
- Provide support, guidance, and training to junior staff, trainees, and students
- Collaborate with senior staff and leadership on service improvements and clinical innovation
- HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist in the field of radiotherapy physics
- Experience working within a clinical radiotherapy physics environment
- Awareness of radiation protection responsibilities (RPS experience advantageous)
- Experience with Eclipse treatment planning software, Aria OIS, and TrueBeam linacs
- Experience in LDR brachytherapy and/or Variseed treatment planning software
