We're looking for an experienced Medical Secretary to support a Consultant Breast and Oncoplastic Surgeon across 16 Devonshire Street and Chelsea Outpatients.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, patient-focused service, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the consultant's practice. You'll be responsible for coordinating patient pathways, managing clinics and providing high-quality administrative support. This role would particularly suit an experienced Medical Secretary who has previously supported Consultant Surgeons and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

What you'll do:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the consultant, including audio-typing of clinical and non-clinical correspondence, reports and other sensitive documentation, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Support the consultant in clinic and coordinate patient journeys from initial consultation through to investigation, treatment and surgical procedures, ensuring appointments, admissions and diagnostics are managed efficiently, accurately and promptly.
- Prepare clinics by ensuring all relevant correspondence, imaging, scan results, insurance information and patient records are available and up to date.
- Manage patient enquiries, inboxes and telephone calls, providing a professional and responsive service to patients, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
- Arrange planned and urgent admissions, request investigations and obtain test results, escalating abnormal or urgent findings where appropriate.
- Process clinic outcomes and undertake associated follow-up actions, including arranging further investigations, treatments and surgical procedures.
- Prepare, distribute and manage dictated letters and clinical correspondence, ensuring documentation is completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Undertake additional administrative responsibilities as required to support the smooth running of the consultant's practice and ensure an excellent patient experience.
- Proven experience working as a Senior Medical Secretary.
- Experience supporting Consultant Surgeons within a busy healthcare environment.
- Breast surgery experience is desirable.
- A strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical processes.
- Excellent typing, audio-typing and document production skills, with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication, organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands effectively.
- A proactive and patient-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
