
Senior Healthcare assistant
Location: Stoke‑on‑Trent Hours: 33 hours per week Pay Rate: £13.59 (NVQ2) - £13.94 (NVQ3) Service Type: Residential Care - Dementia, Mental Health, Physical Disabilities
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant to join a well‑established residential care service in Stoke‑on‑Trent. We are looking for a compassionate, confident and reliable Senior Carer who is passionate about delivering high‑quality care and supporting residents with a range of needs.
About the Role
As a Senior HCA, you will play a key role in supporting the care team, leading by example and ensuring residents receive safe, person‑centred care. You will work across dementia care, mental health conditions and physical disabilities within a warm and supportive residential setting.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high‑quality personal care and support
Lead and mentor care staff during shifts
Administer medication (if trained and authorised)
Support with care planning and documentation
Promote dignity, independence and wellbeing
Communicate effectively with residents, families and colleagues
Ensure a safe, caring and positive environment
Requirements
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
Previous experience as a Senior Carer or strong Care Assistant ready to step up
Experience in dementia care, mental health or physical disabilities
Strong communication and leadership skills
Compassionate, reliable and committed to excellent care
