Spire Alexandra Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Department on a 30hr per week, permanent contract.
At Spire Alexandra Hospital, we offer a comprehensive range of treatments to patients in Medway and the surrounding areas of Kent and the Southeast. Our private hospital has two extensively equipped operating theatres, backed up by an extended recovery unit with 24-hour support.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Assist the pharmacy team in providing an exemplary pharmacy service to the hospital and its patients, working within your level of competence
- Contribute to the safe and effective use of medicines
- Undertake routine delegated activities accurately and in line with current legislation, professional standards, and Spire Healthcare policies and procedures
- Prepare yourself, equipment, materials, and medicines appropriately for specific tasks
- Accurately dispense medicines according to prescriptions, ensuring all items are checked by a pharmacist
- Prepare small batches of pre-packed and/or over-labelled medicines as required, ensuring pharmacist verification
- Accurately record data and information relating to activities and ensure this is passed to the appropriate team member or filed correctly
- Identify and report any significant changes within the pharmacy department or service that may impact patient health and wellbeing
Who are we looking for?
- Previous experience within a pharmacy department (hospital or community)
- Strong team-working skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly numerate and literate
- Administrative experience involving checking and monitoring processes
- Ability to handle sensitive and challenging situations in a professional and supportive manner
