Healthcare Assistant within Drug & Alcohol Service in Stourbridge UK earning £17.50 Hourly. Full Time 4 Month Contract

We currently require a Healthcare Assistant for a full time 4-month block booking at a Drug & Alcohol Service in Stourbridge. What you will do:
- Conduct initial physical and mental health screenings for individuals using our services and facilitate appropriate referrals to primary or secondary healthcare as needed.
- After training and competency assessment, perform interventions such as monitoring blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and recording height/weight, as well as performing ECGs.
- Assist in carrying out toxicology screenings, including urine and saliva tests, to support service users.
- Facilitate the titration process for opioid service users and provide education, health promotion, and screenings for blood-borne viruses (BBV).
- Administer Hepatitis A and B vaccinations under patient specific direction following appropriate training and sign-off.
- Work within integrated care pathways for individuals infected with BBVs, ensuring comprehensive support.
- Support detoxification processes for alcohol and opioids within the community setting.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures as required, adhering to protocols for sample handling and results follow-up.
- Assist in the referral to specialist inpatient detoxification services and liaise with hospital staff as necessary.
- Contribute to the Naloxone Strategy by training staff and service users in its use and ensuring distribution at every suitable opportunity.
- Manage vaccine storage and maintain compliance with Department of Health guidance, including temperature monitoring and records maintenance.
