The Role
We are looking for compassionate, reliable Healthcare Assistants to support a friendly lady with complex care needs in her own home. She has congenital muscular dystrophy, which affects her muscle strength and mobility, and requires ongoing support with daily living and clinical care.
She has a great sense of humour and enjoys a wide range of interests, including:

- Healthcare Assistant
- Location: Darlington, DL1
- Pay Rate: £15.00 - £18.50 Per hour | Sleep-in shifts: £90.00 - £95.00 per night
- Shifts: Part Time | Day shifts and sleep-in shifts | 8am-8pm & 8pm-8am

- Animals, especially small pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters
- Her favourite dog breed, corgis
- Jigsaws and board games such as Scrabble and Monopoly
- TV shows including EastEnders, The Simpsons, and Police Interceptors
- She is a big fan of Charmed and enjoys collecting memorabilia
- Community activities such as bowling, arcades, and shopping trips
You will also support with clinical tasks such as peg feeding, ventilation management, and other aspects of complex care.

Key Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality, person-centred care
- Supporting with personal care respectfully and with dignity
- Administering medication as required
- Assisting with Moving & Handling
- Supporting daily routines and community access
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Monitoring wellbeing and responding to care needs
- PEG feeding
- Ventilation management
- Minimum 3 months' care experience
- Confident with medication, personal care, and Moving & Handling
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Pet friendly
- Flexibility to work both day and sleep in shifts
