Healthcare Assistants Needed - Support a Young Girl With Complex Needs

24-hour package • 12-hour day & waking night shifts • Home-based care

We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to join our complex care team, supporting a young girl with significant health needs following a traumatic/acquired brain injury.

This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to a child and her family as she transitions from an inpatient rehabilitation setting to her home environment.

About the role

Our young female client is currently non-mobile and bedbound, requiring full assistance with all aspects of personal care, regular repositioning, emotional reassurance, and waking night support.

You will be part of a team providing 24-hour care, including:
  • 12-hour day shifts
  • 12-hour waking night shifts
Your support will focus on:
  • Maintaining safety and comfort
  • Emotional reassurance
  • Regular turning and pressure area care
  • Supporting rehabilitation carry-over
  • Working closely with parents and the wider MDT
What we're looking for

We are seeking experienced carers with a background in supporting children or adults with complex needs, ideally including:
  • Experience with traumatic/acquired brain injuries
  • PEG feeding
  • Hoisting and safe manual handling
  • Assisting with therapy programmes & splint use
  • Supporting clients with complex physical and cognitive needs
You must also:
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have your own vehicle
  • Be able to offer a minimum of 2 shifts per week
  • Be currently based in the UK (we cannot offer sponsorship)

Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Experience supporting a child with a brain injury
  • Manual Handling Experience
  • Experience supporting individuals who are PEG fed
  • Full UK driving License
  • Minimum of 6 months UK healthcare experience
