Spire Bushey Hospital are seeking an experienced administrator to join the team on a permanent full-time basis.

Spire Bushey Hospital is one of North London and Hertfordshire's leading private hospitals, with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality private hospital treatment. All of our consultants are highly experienced and many enjoy national and international reputations.

The hospital offers a premium service in key areas of complex healthcare including orthopaedics, neurology, spinal, general, cardiac care, and gynaecology. Spire Bushey Hospital forms part of a 4 site portfolio, and is supported by and works alongside Spire Bushey Diagnostic Centre, Elstree Cancer Centre and Spire Pathology Centre - based on Centennial Park in Elstree - just 5 minutes from the main hospital site.

Duties and responsibilities

As Ward Administrator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the ward for patients, visitors and staff.

These will include but are not limited to:
  • To greet and provide a customer focused, professional and effective service that exceeds expectations to all Patients, Consultants, and Visitors to the hospital
  • To deal with all telephone enquiries in an efficient and courteous manner
  • To give clear, concise information to all enquiries
  • To liaise with Catering Department regarding orders for refreshments by patients and visitors
  • To inform insurance companies if extended length of stay is required to keep insurance companies informed of emergency admissions
  • Ensure that patient notes are up to date and in correct order and are taken to the appropriate place when a patient episode is complete.
  • Ensure that all filing of results and other information is accurately filed in the patient's notes

Who we're looking for:
  • Previous relevant experience in an administrative support role, within a similar industry would be ideal but not essential
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work in a busy team
  • Team player
  • Computer literate
  • Adept at handling various calls on a daily basis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, a mix of shifts between 8am - 8pm, 5 shifts per week
