We are currently recruiting Bank Outpatients Advisors to join our Patient Support Centre based in Seaham. This role is offered on a zero-hours (bank) contract, with shifts provided on a flexible, ad-hoc basis to support service demand, including cover for busy periods, annual leave, and sickness absence.
Please note that this role does not offer guaranteed or fixed hours and is therefore well suited to individuals seeking flexible work alongside other commitments.

We are currently recruiting Bank Outpatients Advisors to join our Patient Support Centre based in Seaham. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide and maintain an efficient bookings system for all outpatients using a computerised system (SAP)
- Manage the telephone lines in an effective and timely manner
- Provide and maintain an efficient diary for all outpatient clinics including both consultant and nurse led clinics (making and changing appointments, clinic changes and cancellations)
- Manage and process patient referral letters and any associated documentation, confirming details with patients/consultants and secretaries as appropriate

- Respond to enquiries from patients, members of the public and consultants in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner either by telephone or letter
Essential Criteria:
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and focused under pressure
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively
- High level of attention to detail
- IT literate, with confidence in learning new systems
- Commitment to confidentiality and information governance standards
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in call centre environment
- Experience working within a hospital or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
