We're looking for an Anaesthetic Practitioner to join our Theatre team at The Portland Hospital. As the only private hospital in the UK dedicated entirely to the healthcare of women and children, The Portland Hospital offers a highly specialised environment where colleagues can develop expertise across paediatric, maternity and women's health services.
With more than 46 paediatric beds, a dedicated Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, neonatal intensive care services and over 175 paediatric consultants, you'll be part of a hospital that cares for more than 40,000 children each year while also supporting one of the UK's leading private maternity services. Working here means joining a close knit clinical community where compassion, collaboration, professional growth and continuous learning are central to the way we care for patients and support one another.
As a Theatre Practitioner - Anaesthetics in our Theatre Department, you'll work alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team supporting a broad range of surgical specialities, including paediatric surgery, gynaecology, obstetrics and general surgery. Our five fully integrated theatres are equipped with advanced technology, creating an environment where you can continue to build your clinical expertise while delivering exceptional patient care.
This role offers the opportunity to further develop your anaesthetic skills within paediatrics, supported by experienced colleagues who are passionate about learning and professional development. You'll play a vital role throughout the perioperative pathway, ensuring every patient receives safe, compassionate and personalised care. With a varied shift pattern, participation in the on call and standby rota, and a regular overnight stay commitment of approximately one night per week, you'll gain exposure to a diverse caseload while helping to provide responsive support when patients need it most. It's important that you're able to participate fully in this rota, as overnight cover forms a key part of how we deliver safe and effective care to our patients.
At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.
What you'll do:
Originally founded over 50 years ago by Dr Thomas Frist, HCA has gone on to become one of the world's leading healthcare providers. In the UK, we're one of the largest providers of privately funded healthcare and have invested over £500 million in the latest treatments, technology, techniques, medication and facilities. Being part of a large multisite, established healthcare group we can offer you unrivalled opportunities for career progression through internal and external courses, as well as working conditions that prioritise both your mental and physical wellbeing.
