<li>Efficiently process patient samples using manual, semi-automated, and fully automated techniques and instrumentation.</li><li>Undertake troubleshooting and maintenance on equipment within the section.</li><li>Participate actively in the development of new methodologies and instrument evaluations.</li><li>Assess sample suitability and liaise with medical staff as required.</li><li>Ensure the analytical process is satisfactorily completed and results are validated within agreed turnaround times.</li><li>Monitor analysis performance, check internal quality control samples, and take corrective action if necessary.</li><li>Refer unusual events to a more experienced Biomedical Scientist for advice or action.</li><li>Prioritise investigations based on clinical need and meet agreed turnaround times for urgent requests.</li><li>Adhere to appropriate codes of conduct and infection prevention procedures.</li><li>Safeguard children and vulnerable adults, completing necessary training.</li><li>Prioritise the person receiving care first and challenge poor practice immediately.</li></ul>
