Summary of Role: The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner, providing a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy service to children aged 0-5 and adolescents with dysphagia, social communication differences/autism and complex needs, across our acute site. The post holder will work on the Acute Ward (Jack's Place) and support premature neonates/ babies/ children and young people admitted to Paediatric and Neonatal Wards The post holder will be expected to manage their own caseload, and work alongside medical and community colleagues to ensure the communication and eating, drinking and swallowing needs are managed appropriately within the hospital environment. They will be expected to work collaboratively with babies/children/young people (BCYP), parents/carers and with MDT colleagues including within health, education or social services in the planning and delivery of services to these specific client groups. They will also have a role in advising, supporting and supervising other SLTs working with children with complex needs and/or dysphagia in our Harrow community settings.
