Main Duties:<ul>
<li>The Initial Response Team operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, conducting comprehensive assessments to determine the support needs of children and young people. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will manage a smaller caseload, allowing you to provide valuable support and guidance to your fellow social work colleagues.</li><li>Social Work Services: Deliver specialised and expert advice in complex or challenging social care cases. Manage a diverse and complex caseload, ensuring tailored support for children, families, and carers.</li><li>Assessments and Interventions: Lead and conduct assessments or interventions in complex and/or contentious cases. Process referrals and complete assessments per statutory requirements and departmental policies.</li><li>Planning and Implementation: Contribute to the creation and implementation of plans for children in need, children needing protection, children in care, foster carers, adopters, and family support. Collaborate effectively within a professional, family, and foster carer network for individual children, families, an carers.</li><li>Meetings and Conferences: Attend and, when required, lead child protection conferences, statutory reviews, core groups, fostering panels, adoption panels, disruption meetings, and departmental meetings, providing professional input.</li><li>Reports: Prepare high-standard written reports for various settings, including court proceedings.</li><li>Court Representation: Represent the Local Authority in court, provide verbal evidence in public and private proceedings, and justify Local Authority actions. Act as a Local Authority representative during case transfers between authorities.</li></ul>
Key Requirements for this role:<ul>
<li>Possess a degree in Social Work (such as CQSW, CSS, DiPSW, or an equivalent qualification)</li><li>Must be registered with Social Work England</li><li>Significant experience in relation to children and families</li><li>Demonstrated experience in conducting research and generating detailed reports with actionable recommendations</li><li>Experienced in providing coaching or formal mentoring to individuals or teams (desirable)</li></ul>
