About the role As a Doctor Functional Assessor at Maximus, you'll use your clinical expertise to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You'll work on complex cases involving veterans or neurological conditions, industrial injuries and respiratory diseases, while your compassion and experience helps customers move forward with their lives. The role can be both challenging and rewarding, which is why we provide a tailored training programme to help you thrive. You'll begin with 6 weeks of training before assessing customers and have ongoing support and mentorship in your role with us. Duties and responsibilities <ul><li>Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life</li><li>Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine a person's eligibility for benefits </li><li>Develop your clinical knowledge and assessment skills with the support of regular feedback and supervision</li></ul> Requirements <ul><li>Valid GMC registration number </li><li>At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience gained within or outside of the NHS</li><li>You MUST have the right to work in the UK - we cannot offer sponsorships </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills</li><li>Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports</li></ul> What we offer <ul><li>£72,000 salary with the opportunity for a £1,500 additional skills allowance </li><li>Flexible working - full time, part time and hybrid</li><li>No bank holidays, evenings or weekends</li><li>Leading maternity and paternity paid leave</li><li>Bank holidays plus 25 days' holiday with the option to buy or sell 5 days</li><li>Ongoing CPD, clinical development and reimbursed validation fees</li><li>£2,000 for referring a friend</li><li>Life insurance and Private Bupa Healthcare</li><li>In-person clinical conferences held annually</li></ul>Join us and become part of a team that's making a real difference to people's lives.
