
Training officer(Learning disabilities)
Location: Leicester (with occasional travel to Essex - approx. once per month)
Salary: £37,000-£38,000 per year
Hours: Full‑time, 37.5 hours (8-4 or 9-5)
Contract: Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Training Officer to lead the delivery of high‑quality training across our health and social care services. You will ensure that staff and managers have the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver safe, person‑centred care in line with sector standards and regulatory requirements.
Working across three services in Leicester and two services in Essex, you will design, deliver and evaluate training programmes, manage induction and CPD pathways, and maintain full compliance with training records and legislative requirements. This is a key role within the organisation, supporting continuous improvement and workforce development.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver the organisation's Induction Programme, CPD and mandatory training modules.
Ensure all training courses run to schedule and meet learner needs and legislative requirements.
Implement health and social care apprenticeships and certified training for staff and managers.
Maintain accurate training records and ensure full compliance at all times.
Conduct training needs analysis and design appropriate training materials.
Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, including ROI and impact on service quality.
Attend management reviews, meetings and contribute to organisational development.
Review care plans monthly to ensure training reflects the needs of the people we support.
Support quality monitoring through audits, risk identification and action planning.
Provide coaching and 1:1 development support where required.
Promote teamwork, uphold company values and maintain confidentiality.
Ensure all duties comply with Health & Safety regulations and professional standards.

Skills & Experience Required
Recognised training qualification - Essential
Experience designing and delivering training within a care environment - Essential
Strong knowledge of health & social care regulations and legislation
Ability to deliver and understand restrictive physical intervention
Experience delivering management development programmes - Essential
Excellent training and presentation skills
Strong coaching skills - Desirable
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to matrix‑manage project teams
NVQ Level 3 or 5 in Health & Social Care - Desirable
Experience in safeguarding, audits and autism support - Highly beneficial
