Priory Stockton Hall is looking to recruit a Trainee Psychologist to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours per week.
Priory Stockton Hall is a long-serving medium secure hospital based in a quiet but well-connected village near the historic city of York. It serves the local Provider Collaborative and multiple National Collaboratives, depending on clinical need, and has had a long-running record of successful patient pathways.

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients

To be eligible for this role, it is essential that you have completed a BPS-accredited undergraduate psychology program and obtained a degree with at least an upper second classification. Additionally, you should have completed any required postgraduate qualifications identified by your professional body, the British Psychological Society (BPS), as prerequisites for progressing towards your training role. Finally, you will need to enrol in the appropriate training program to continue your professional development.

- Organise, monitor and prioritise your own caseload, under the guidance of your supervisor. Balancing training requirements and organisational need. Level of experience and current training in therapeutic skills, modalities and assessments, will inform caseload and should be agreed with your supervisor prior to commencing any clinical work.
- Construct psychological formulations for service user' difficulties and develop individualised intervention and managements plan accordingly; recommending and providing psychological therapy as required. Relevant training needs will be identified and further training will be attended as necessary.
- Conduct psychological assessments (including risk assessments) with service users using appropriate methods, ranging from interview techniques, psychometric tests, behavioural observation and consultation with staff and service users' families. You will attend training in relevant assessment measures, and learn how to interpret and report results accurately.
- Contribute to the development of group work programmes in accordance with the Psychology group work programme. Deliver programmes to high standard and maintain treatment integrity as required.
