About the role

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Speech & Language Therapist to join the SEND School Team in Burton-on-Trent. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference to children with special educational needs while enjoying the flexibility of locum work.

Working one day per week on an ongoing basis, you'll support pupils by delivering high-quality assessments and interventions that enhance communication, learning, and overall development. This role is ideal for therapists seeking a balanced workload alongside other professional or personal commitments.

What you will do

  • Undertake speech, language, and communication assessments for children with SEND.

  • Develop and deliver tailored intervention plans to meet individual needs.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to embed strategies in the classroom.

  • Provide guidance and training to school staff to support communication-friendly environments.

  • Monitor progress, review outcomes, and adapt interventions accordingly.

  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to reports for families and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • HCPC registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.

  • Minimum of two years' post-qualification experience.

Salary range

  • £35 per hour
