Description
Priory Hospital Middleton St George are currently looking to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our established department. This is an opportunity for 1 full-time (37.5 hrs) role, the post holder must be qualified and be registered with the HCPC.
Set in spacious and relaxing grounds, Priory Hospital Middleton St George, located in Darlington, County Durham, is a specialist inpatient service for adults with mental health issues, complex needs and behaviours that challenge. We are dedicated to supporting people to transfer effortlessly between the most appropriate care, meeting individual needs, enabling recovery and re-engagement within the community, and maximising life opportunities.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Occupational Therapist you will manage your own caseload as well as contributing to the Central Activity Programme which focuses on Vocational Rehabilitation. You will also work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team on a designated ward as well as the within the Occupational Therapy team. The Model of Human Occupation is embedded into the service provided at Middleton St George, and OT's utilise corresponding assessment tools accordingly. You will receive monthly clinical supervision as well as bi-monthly management supervision. To provide clinical, professional and operational leadership to the Occupational Therapy (OT) service, working in collaboration with Therapy Services Manager to ensure Occupational Therapy services are proactive and supportive of Priory objectives.

The post-holder is required to have a clear and positive communication style both verbally and non-verbally; they will be required to provide written and verbal information in a succinct manner in a way that is understood by those that they are communicating with; they will need to provide information by email, but use this as a tool when appropriate and not as an alternative to face to face or verbal communication unless circumstances dictate this.

- To work closely with multi-disciplinary colleagues across the hospital site to support integration around patient care.
- To deliver a highly specialised and advanced standard of OT assessment, treatment and management for patients.
