Description
Priory Hospital Dewsbury is looking to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the team in our Jubilee Ward. This is a part time role of 30 hours per week.
The salary for this role is up to £40,000 depending on experience
Based in the residential area of Earlsheaton, West Yorkshire, Priory Hospital Dewsbury provides level 2 rehabilitation services divided into two wards. Care is for male patients who have mental health disorders and increasing physical health needs. We also offer neuropsychiatry support, support for older people and dementia, community-focused rehabilitation, and support for severe and enduring mental health.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients
What you'll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.
The role requires a qualified Occupational Therapist with a Diploma, Degree, Honours Degree, or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy, along with accreditation by the HCPC and membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT). The successful candidate will be able to think critically and reflectively when making professional judgements, including in complex and unpredictable situations, seeking guidance from peers and more experienced colleagues when needed. They will actively listen and incorporate the views of others to support shared decision-making. Prior experience working as a qualified Occupational Therapist is essential, ideally within an Occupational Therapy setting supporting elderly patients with physical health conditions and dementia-related needs.
