Description
Priory Hospital Nelson House is looking to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the team. This is a part-time/ 30 Hour role.
Located in Gosport, Hampshire, Priory Hospital Nelson House is a rehabilitation service which offers both level 1 and level 2 care, supporting males presenting with mental health conditions and complex needs, who may also have behaviours that challenge and substance misuse issues.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

Candidates should possess a recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the relevant professional body. Significant post-qualification experience within a clinical or rehabilitation setting is essential, along with strong assessment, planning, and therapeutic intervention skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership ability, excellent communication skills, and confidence working autonomously as well as within a multidisciplinary team. Experience mentoring junior staff or contributing to service development will be considered an advantage.

- Lead the assessment and development of personalised treatment plans to support clients in achieving optimal functional independence.
- Provide advanced clinical expertise and guidance to junior therapists and support staff.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, client-centred rehabilitation interventions.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on patient progress, ensuring best practices and compliance with professional standards.
- Contribute to service development by identifying areas for improvement and supporting implementation of evidence-based practices.
