OH Medical is delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Occupational Health & Wellbeing Advisor on behalf of a leading public sector organisation based in Derbyshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Health professional to take a strategic and clinical leadership role, driving the delivery of high-quality occupational health and wellbeing services across a complex and diverse workforce.

Working closely with the Head of Occupational Health & Wellbeing, you will lead proactive health and wellbeing initiatives, provide expert clinical advice, and contribute to the development of a resilient and healthy workforce.

The Role

As the Senior Occupational Health & Wellbeing Advisor, you will be responsible for delivering specialist occupational health support and leading wellbeing programmes that promote employee health, resilience, and performance.

You will provide expert advice to managers, HR teams, and employees on a range of occupational health matters, including sickness absence management, rehabilitation, workplace adjustments, and health promotion strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership
  • Provide expert occupational health advice and guidance across the organisation
  • Manage complex occupational health referrals and rehabilitation programmes
  • Support managers and HR teams with case management and workplace adjustment recommendations
  • Promote a positive culture of health, wellbeing, and resilience
Governance & Compliance
  • Maintain robust clinical governance standards and professional practice
  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation, health and safety requirements, and professional standards
  • Contribute to policy development and service improvement initiatives
Wellbeing Strategy & Delivery
  • Design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based wellbeing programmes
  • Lead initiatives focused on both physical and mental health
  • Monitor programme effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments and external providers to deliver integrated occupational health solutions
  • Build strong working relationships across the organisation to promote wellbeing objectives
Service Development
  • Analyse occupational health and wellbeing data to identify trends and inform strategic decisions
  • Support innovation and the continuous enhancement of occupational health services
About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:
  • Registered Nurse status with current NMC registration
  • A recognised Occupational Health qualification (Postgraduate Diploma, Degree, NMC Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Significant occupational health and wellbeing experience within a large or complex organisation
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, occupational health practice, and health and safety requirements
  • Experience managing complex occupational health caseloads and delivering strategic wellbeing programmes
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
Desirable Experience
  • Occupational health experience within policing, emergency services, or other blue-light environments
  • Additional qualifications in mental health, wellbeing, or psychological health
  • Experience using health and wellbeing data to drive service improvements and organisational outcomes
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required level of security vetting, including five years' continuous UK residency
  • Willingness to undergo drug testing in line with organisational policy
  • Full UK driving licence and the ability to travel throughout Derbyshire as required
