What you will do:

  • Provide professional leadership and line management to Educational Psychologists, Trainee EPs, and Assistant EPs within the locality team, fostering a collaborative and inspiring work environment
  • Deliver high-quality psychological assessments, consultations, and interventions for children and young people with SEND across early years, schools, and post-16 settings
  • Contribute to statutory Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs) and ensure timely, compliant advice in line with the Children and Families Act 2014
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including schools, social care, NHS colleagues, and voluntary organisations to support integrated service delivery
  • Lead on service development initiatives, promoting innovative and evidence-based psychological practices across the Educational Psychology Service (EPS)

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Doctorate in Educational Psychology (or equivalent)
  • Psychology degree recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS)

Registration & Compliance:

  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Chartered Psychologist status (or working towards) with the BPS
  • Strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (0–25), Children and Families Act 2014 and Equality Act 2010

Experience:

  • Significant post-qualification experience as an Educational Psychologist within a UK local authority or equivalent setting
  • Experience of contributing to statutory SEND processes, including EHC assessments and tribunal work
  • Demonstrable experience of leadership, supervision, and service development within an Educational Psychology Service
  • Proven ability to work effectively across education, health, and care systems to deliver integrated outcomes for children and young people
