This full-time role offers an attractive pay rate of up to £36.00 per hour based on experience, over a contract duration of 4 months. What you will do

  • Assess children and young people with complex disabilities both at home and in educational settings.

  • Conduct detailed functional and environmental assessments to recommend appropriate specialist equipment and adaptations.

  • Undertake moving and handling assessments and develop safe, effective plans for families.

  • Evaluate the need for minor and major housing adaptations, working closely with teams to facilitate suitable solutions.

  • Liaise with families, schools, health professionals, and social care teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.

  • Contribute actively to multidisciplinary assessments and meetings, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and reports to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy with HCPC registration.

  • Significant post-registration experience in Children's Occupational Therapy, ideally focusing on children with physical disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and neurodiverse conditions.

  • Proficiency with equipment provision and experience conducting moving and handling assessments, as well as housing adaptations.

  • Strong knowledge of the Disabled Facilities Grant process and relevant legislation.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills, along with a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of housing and Disabled Facilities Grant legislation, experience managing complex adaptation cases, and any supervisory experience with junior staff.
