As Regional Director, you'll play a key strategic leadership role, shaping operational performance across your region while developing high-performing leaders, driving continuous improvement and ensuring every home delivers exceptional outcomes for residents, colleagues and stakeholders.

About the role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll lead a portfolio of care homes, providing strategic and operational leadership to Area Directors, Regional Support Managers and Home Managers.

You'll be accountable for quality, regulatory compliance, commercial performance and financial sustainability across the region, ensuring homes consistently deliver safe, effective, person-centred care while achieving occupancy, budget and operational objectives.

Working closely with executive colleagues and central support functions, you'll use performance insight to identify opportunities, manage risk and drive continuous improvement. You'll also build strong relationships with commissioners, regulators and external partners, supporting commissioning activity, service development and future growth across the region.

About you

You're an experienced senior operational leader with a proven track record of leading large, multi-site services within adult social care or another highly regulated environment.

You combine strategic thinking with commercial awareness and are passionate about developing leaders who consistently deliver excellent operational, financial and quality outcomes. A confident communicator and collaborative leader, you're comfortable influencing at executive level while remaining visible and engaged with operational teams.

What you'll bring

Essential

  • Significant senior operational leadership experience across multiple care services or another complex, multi-site, regulated environment.
  • Proven success leading senior operational leaders and delivering sustained improvements in quality, regulatory compliance and commercial performance.
  • Strong understanding of adult social care regulation, governance, safeguarding and quality assurance.
  • Experience managing regional financial performance, including occupancy, budgets, workforce planning and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrable experience leading organisational change, service improvement and strategic operational initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability, using operational and financial data to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Experience building effective relationships with commissioners, regulators and external stakeholders.
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent senior leadership experience within health, social care, business or a related discipline.

Desirable

  • Relevant postgraduate or leadership qualification.
  • Registered Nurse or other relevant health and social care qualification.
  • Experience contributing to organisational strategy, commissioning activity or service development.
  • Experience presenting performance information to Executive Leadership Teams or Boards.
  • Knowledge of commissioning and funding arrangements across England, Scotland and Wales.

Additional information

This is a senior regional leadership role requiring regular travel across a portfolio of homes, together with attendance at commissioner meetings, provider forums and leadership events. The successful candidate will work closely with executive colleagues to deliver operational excellence, support strategic growth and represent the organisation with external stakeholders. An Enhanced DBS check and a full UK driving licence are required.
