What you will do:
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications and ensure compliance with legal, professional, and organisational standards
- Support medicines optimisation processes, including reconciliation and stock control
- Assist in the safe supply, storage, and distribution of medicines across clinical areas
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, clinicians, and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support patient care
- Maintain accurate patient medication records in line with governance and information governance requirements
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent recognised qualification
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Registration and Compliance:
- Active GPhC registration with no restrictions
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Medicines Act, Misuse of Drugs Regulations, and CQC standards
- Understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, and patient safety frameworks
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician within NHS, community pharmacy, or independent healthcare settings
- Experience supporting MDT environments and working in regulated healthcare services
- Familiarity with controlled drug management and audit processes
- Experience contributing to service improvement or quality assurance initiatives
