Peripatetic Functional Assessor

PFAS are recruiting for Peripatetic Functional Assessors to deliver Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessments across an allocated region.

This role is ideally suited to healthcare professionals who are flexible and able to travel to different assessment locations at short notice to support service delivery requirements. When not undertaking face-to-face assessments, you will work remotely from home completing telephone assessments.

What You'll Be Doing
• Conducting structured telephone, and face-to-face assessments
• Travelling throughout an allocated region to deliver assessments at various locations as required.
• Providing flexible coverage to meet service demands, including responding to short-notice deployment requests.
• Managing travel efficiently whilst maintaining assessment quality and productivity targets.
• Exploring how a claimant's condition impacts their daily living
• Reviewing and interpreting clinical evidence
• Producing detailed, high-quality written reports
• Applying professional judgement in line with regulatory standards
• Working towards quality and productivity targets
• Delivering assessments in a respectful, fair and reassuring manner

This is an analytical, report-focused role. It suits clinicians who enjoy critical thinking and structured environments.

Essential Requirements

We cannot consider applications without:
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle or accessible public transport.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively within an allocated region.
• Flexibility to attend different assessment locations at short notice to support operational requirements.
• A recognized qualification as a registered healthcare professional
• Current NMC or HCPC registration
• Membership with the relevant professional body (where applicable)
• Minimum 12 months' post-qualification clinical experience
• Eligibility to practise in the UK
