Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Ensure that all patients are accurately monitored through each stage of their diagnostic and treatment pathway. To understand and use patient tracker lists as a tool to achieve the above. Ensure that capacity issues are escalated to the Service Manager.
To manage and take responsibility for Teleologic on behalf of Consultant(s) ensuring timely authorisation of letters and escalation of any issues to the Service Manager.
To take ownership and have detailed knowledge of all patient related information, including case notes, results, referrals and correspondence within dedicated office space.
To monitor awaiting investigations, ensuring urgent procedures are booked and results chased daily and to monitor / chase routine investigations on a weekly basis.
To prioritise and administer all patient related enquiries in a timely manner to ensure that patient safety is paramount under the empowerment and guidance of the Consultant(s).

Essential criteria
- Educated to NVQ level 3 equivalent qualification and experience
- Qualification in Audio Typing or proven experience of audio-typing within a healthcare setting
- Audiotyping

- Understanding of National NHS Targets

- Demonstrable office experience, preferably in a health service environment
- Proven experience of using Medical Terminology or Qualification eg Amspar
- Experience dealing with routine/urgent and complex problems, progress chasing and reviewing resources
- Experience with 18 Week pathways and Cancer Targets and Referral times
Essential criteria
- Excellent computer skills including ability to use Microsoft packages such as Excel
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Understanding of Data Protection issues.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across the organisation liaising with different levels of personnel
